I'm still looking for the trunk handle base for a 1942 Ford that fits in the ribbed trim. Not sure how rare they are but I still can't find one.

I don't have what I would consider "unobtainium" accessories, I try to use relatively rare components and arrange them in a way that make sense.
Although, there was a time when I had a bullet nose Studebaker that I put a visor on, traffic light viewer on the dash and venetian blinds in the rear wrap around windows.

Bermuda Bells were popular in the Northeast in the 50s ( grew up in CT), very hard to find now. I did eventually find one a few years ago, paid to much for it, but but nobody around here (Oklahoma) ever heard of them before. That's OK, had to have it. I keep the bell when I change cars - it's in the 3rd one now. Memories...

Unobtainable, as in can't find or can't afford? Some stuff I literally cannot find and other stuff I won't pay that much for. I guess if I'm not willing to pay too much for something I mustn't really want it after all.

When I restored my 34 Ford I looked for the factory hot air heater and never found one...These must have been really rare....No need now the old flatmotor is gone and replaced with a blown Hemi...

Connecticut Dragway License Plate Frame .jpg

I found a CT Dragway license plate frame thanks to a couple HAMB members. I had been on the search for one for well over a decade... more like two.

Still want a decent, affordable 6qt Corvette trap door oil pan.

    A Chevy with a Ford in it...if it's a '39 it has to be a flathead but a 60 HP I don't know....unless it is Smith Jiggler equipped...

This you tube link shows one and plays the sound:

I tried to find one for my semi-off-topic shop truck. It is a much friendlier alternative than a car horn, when you don't have to wake up some idiot in traffic. I ended up with an air horn - controlled with a manual air valve. A gentle tug on the air horn handle produces a friendly "toot". The stock electric horns are for ordinary traffic situations. And when you really, really need to tighten someone's sphincter, a firm pull on the air horn handle.

About 10 years ago, I got to help HAMBer Frank Morawski restore the little yellow car known as The Carrillo Roadster in this picture. The tires on the car were the tires on the car when it ran 178 miles per hour in 1948. The tires were Firestone Indy 500 tires from the late 40’s. All 4 tires have threads showing because late 1940’s Indy 500 tires are true unobtainium E2E73A41-7221-473D-BC4D-684BA92AA80B.jpeg
