Really nice, and the station wagon wheels are ideal for this car. I do have to wonder though, could the Hankook lettering on the tires be sanded off smooth? They really stand out on an otherwise period-perfect looking car. The outside edges of the tires actually have very pleasing lines in them, if it weren't for the lettering I think I would have been fooled, especially in pictures. I've sanded lettering off of tires before and the difference in appearance is shocking.

If he goes with that manifold, he should go with chrome 327 or Corvette valve covers for the right look. JMHO
Maybe a chrome version of that dual snorkel air cleaner, too. ;)
Or he could leave it as is,'cause it's a killer looking ride!!!

I would really like to find out more, or see if he had any Seip ....anything (pens, marketing, promo stuff). Not getting any hits on google, ebay etc.

  10. The cool small stuff matters, the attention to detail.

    tail pipe.PNG

Example above .... the tailpipe exactly exiting to flow with how the rear quarter is formed right behind the rear wheel.

Listen to this....Hope to have specs. on the motor soon to share. Previous owner had the motor built quite a few year ago, thought it was an Isky grind.. Bugs me not to have the details on...

There was a time that I didn't care too much for the 61 Sedans' rear window overhang but they have really grown on me, of course any Chevy sedan floats my boat nowadays.
And that color is perfect for this car.

View attachment 5251645 0173B77D-5B25-4108-9862-88F8D38D22F7.jpeg I’m partial to them as my Uncle had one before going to Vietnam, and I remember riding in that car, he came back (thankfully) a bought a Nova.

I bought a turquoise one in the early 90’s way before they were cool. It was a nice car, but nowhere near as nice as this one.

Roadsir, I also had a friend with a bubbletop 61 , aqua with white interior and chrome reverse wheels. What a beauty. My 62 hardtop is aqua. I love it. Lippy

Just one thing I noticed. The badge in the center of the grill has the crossed flags over the V. On the rear trunk badge, there is a Chevy badge over the V. I remember in'62 that the larger more performance oriented engines always carried the crossed flags over the V. Did that apply to the '61 models?

yup, crossed flags for big block cars front and rear. looks like this car has a 348 front emblem and a small block/6 banger rear emblem

Very nice looking car - congrats! My parents had a similar one when I was a kid. 2 tone black and white. I still remember the heater controls and the ignition switch with the raised portion around the key which is why one is going my '57 pickup. My sister locked the keys in the trunk one day. Someone helped by pulling the back of the back seat off and I crawled back there to get the keys. I also remember a very slow ride to the dealership with my dad to trade it in.

I got to do the same thing when my brother locked the keys in the trunk of Dad's '67 Pontiac Catalina. It was pretty cool to be able to squeeze in behind the back seat to retrieve the keys!

Glad it was able to stir some memories....
Also neat that 61 flat top was one year only for GM, it need to see a few BOP as well. I have a couple Impalas the flat-top, pretty rare..

I pulled up to a small car show at Sonic and parked behind a '61 Flat top. I was driving my '61 2dr HT Belvedere. It had an Aero wheel ands a Swivel seat. I got just as many lookers as the Chevy. Nice car you have there.
