Technical Small B&M ID

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by JNKYARDDOG_1, Dec 5, 2021.

  1. Picked this small B&M blower today at the swap meet... Looks like it can use a Holley 2 barrel Strange mounting for the base...

    Any clues?

  2. Maybe for a V6?
Blown V6's were really popular back in the '80's.

I think that this was like 66, or 112-cid.

I remember seeing one adapted to a Porsche 914, but don't recall its intended application.

    I believe I have now found the application: 2.8l V6 Camaro/Firebird.

The drive nose looks like it is for a sbf or another engine with a front distributor.

No reason you could not adapt it.

Strangely.... I did exactly what you want to do with a Dodge V-6 set up...
Made the intake with a 4 barrel after market Buick intake, Bridgeport to make it flat, mill'd away enough to weld a 1/2 " plat I cut, To adapt, had the base gasket from kit, worked killer...
Think I had to re-drill the lower pulley..
After getting everything on the Same "plain" horizontally, it all fell together

Or any other engine with a front-mount distributor, or stuff in the way.

Blower plus 2-barrel carburetor does not equal small block Ford.

If I recall correctly, in the 1980's B&M made smaller superchargers, as small as 66 and 88cid. This looks like one of those. They were for very small engines.

  18. Hey Gimpy,
I’ve got one just like it .
It’s an NOS piece and has never been bolted on an engine,,,,although you can tell from the patina,,,it’s been sitting on the shelf for a while,,,,,I know Ive had it about 10 years .
I plan on converting it to use on a Magnum head engine and using a 3/71 that I have .
I will need to get an offset thermostat adapter,,,to clear the drive,,,,no real problem .
And use a plate to adapt the case to the manifold,,,,again,,,no problem .

What amazes me is how faint the B& M logo is,,,,,,looks like yours is the same .
