Hot Rods 1938 Ford truck, finally got one

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by gasmanm01, Dec 5, 2021.

  1. I have my 51 f-1 which just made a 850 mile round trip to the Daytona turkey run. I bought this 38 of a guy on the Hamb. I’m the 4th owner all steel. Fixed a few issues on it and have put over a 1000 miles since October. Got my rooms and confirmed registration for the roundup. I entered the F-1 but may bring both. Life is good

Like the '38 better than the F1 but then as a fellow barrel nose owner I'm a little prejudiced.

  5. Thanks, I drive both of them regularly. I think one gets jealous over the other!

A summer job for a little extra $,between Jr high an High School, was speed shop" The Pit Stop" that did a lot of sports cars too,in 1958&9. Dick Steven's shop truck was a 1938 Ford pick-up with Olds Rocket 88 power. Was a bit ruff,he was going to clean it up,except jobs got in the way,so it didn't get shiny tell I was in 11th grade, did run good on parts getter runs. It did looked real cool smooth out and shiny !!
Why Dick trusted a teen to dive it,I'll never really know, but I gave it some respect n no ragging on it.

    That’s a good looking truck , but from the front ; she sure looks like a 1939. This is a ‘38 D94421F9-DE7C-4693-9A8F-799766E75963.jpeg

your grille and hood ornament are 1939, like my 39. Where is the windshield opening knob?
