Another channeled New England roadster. Built by my friend in the late 50’s. Yours will be really fine! Thanks for sharing the story and pictures. 1A1DE4ED-23D4-4D1B-A2A0-7D06A56F7B10.jpeg

Well busted butt today and got it all sewn together and installed on the car. Still need to make some hidem strips for the front and rear bows. CC6FFC8E-F28D-49EE-BD81-A3C5ED94499F.jpeg

I have a killer old chrome rear window that @Angry Frenchman sold me, waiting on some new Lexan and will get that installed.

Also there will be a full set of “winter gear” for this little roadster. Side curtains, bordered windshield etc. stay tuned!
Thanks for the positive words guys.

Thanks @Stogy it is a lot of fun seeing it take shape. I know this type of hot rod isn’t for everyone so I’m glad you’re enjoying the build.

Well this will come as no surprise to people who know me but I ended up making a whole new top for the car. I had a very helpful upholsterer from Arizona Brian share some pictures and advice on how to improve on what I had done the first time.
There is reinforcement sewn in on all the snaps and edges as well as triple layer front corners. Although there are some spots I’m still not thrilled with I need to keep moving forward.
Here’s round two all finished up. AFD6980E-C20D-4CBF-A69E-0D7C5E3CC1E8.jpeg CE1AA97B-6BA3-4E08-967B-932AAF755C02.jpeg

Also added some stainless screen to the air filter housing which helped hide the ribbed filter it has. D71D2A1D-756E-4BD9-A994-ABE9788075D5.jpeg

Thanks guys, I’m really pleased with the look of it. If there was more room inside I would of liked to bring the rear bow ahead and down a little more but I just wouldn’t fit in it.

Your roadster has such nice lines! I agree, it does really have great New England proportions. I especially like the front view that shows the frame horns removed so that the grille shape is intact. I like the tall whitewall tires and the hubcaps. I too like the stainless screens on the air cleaners. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Nice work on that top. I did the one on my 31 and it does take some effort!

  30. You nailed the top. As already said, it is a great example of the east coast hotrod style.
