That is an early dragster of Eddie Hill, he ran Pontiacs for many years until he went to hemi’s. He also raced drag boats, and then returned to the quarter mile in rear engined rails. He was a fan favorite. @j hansen the early Pontiac V8’s used reverse cooling and water entered the engine where elbows were bolted to the front of the heads. Eddie unbolted the elbows and made the engine a structural member with those upper tubes. The intake manifold was relatively high on Pontiacs so the steering shaft could pass under the manifold and over the valley cover eliminating the need for a conventional drag link.
