A man named Carl and his wife Lois from Richmond Indiana owned this car up untill he past away a few back. He bought the car in 1953 and Drag race it for many years, even towing it with a 57 Nomad he bought brand new and still owned till his death. In it's drag racing days he had the Big M painted on it. If I remember right he redid it in this configuration in the late 60's. One of my best friends Randy was very close to Carl and Lois when he lived in Richmond and continued to go back their several times a year to visit. they where like family. All of his cars where sold after his death by his stepson. My wife and I went with Randy and his wife to Richmond and first met Carl and Lois back in 1988. They where wonderful people. Oh yeah the fuel injection was put on it back in 1957. Great memories. Larry
Thanks for sharing the background information. A friend of mine bought it and appreciates the history behind the Mercury.
I love all the photos of the Mercs, and a special thanks to J HANSEN, from my grandmother's homeland.
