Ok..for my first official post, thought I’d throw this out fun. A long story short, a friend of mine inherited a property in upstate NY with a garage full of HAMB friendly parts and stuff, all of which is going to be sold. I think that’s gonna be another topic for another time. So, for right now, I’d like to focus on this old T-Bodied Altered Roadster that was sitting behind the garage. Appears to be about a 23 Henry steel body on Model A rails, fiberglass turtle deck, narrowed early GM rear, I’m assuming Chevy powered. Little plating remains on what was once a fully chromed front end, hairpins, draglink, steering box etc. Found the rear wheels with piecrust slicks inside. Looks like it was originally painted red followed by blue and then finally a metalflake gold. Probably a long shot that anyone would recognize or know anything about it, but, who knows. Why it was sitting outside for years is a mystery. My feeling is that this old warrior deserves restoration. Anyway, it needs to find a new home ASAP and that’s where I could use some advise from you guys! I really have no idea what a fair price for this thing would be so any input on that would really help. Thanks 61135EF3-FE1A-4481-B863-31C833AAF134.jpeg C44B9C3E-E9B2-49D5-BD0B-BCEECF7FADD0.jpeg F971C6EF-EAFA-495D-BB38-323EFF1DE898.jpeg 9ABFC811-4E29-4932-915A-7BDD78B8805F.jpeg CDF92DEE-B6E6-4AC9-B783-B3A560B3DB31.jpeg 61135EF3-FE1A-4481-B863-31C833AAF134.jpeg

  3. What part of upstate NY are you in? That might help track down the history.

Coold rig that might have some NE racing history.
As far as it being kicked out back, I'd have to believe that may be the norm with old race cars when they have outlived their racing days rather than the exception. There are a number of threads on old race cars found out in the weeds behind the shop on here. Primary reasons may have been that they became obsolete for racing due to rule changes or that the owner lost interest in racing them.

I could see it being put back together with a fairly mild engine and being run in some of the Hamb friendly races around. You don't have to go that fast with it as long as you can light the tires up coming off the line.

I totally agree…when I was a kid, if you walked behind any Garage or Gas Station there was always some old clapped out drag car or stock car pushed off in the weeds and long forgotten. I also agree that it would be a lot of fun for someone to resurrect this thing for vintage events etc. The location is Otego NY 13825. We’ve had a couple guys inquire about it but not sure what a fair asking price would be… Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

Are those wheelie bars/skids peeking out from underneath the turtledeck? Outstanding! Prices between upstate NY and California are completely different but I'll venture a guess. I'd say somewhere under $1000 but north of $500. It's basically a pile of beat up, rusty metal but hey.....you asked for opinions!

Comparison wise, Vern Tardel was asking $300 for this.....

and $400 for this but that was a couple years ago.
