Aw Willie. We used to pass a ranch of his in Utah on our way elk hunting. Locals said it was his anyways, and was sold off by the government for back taxes. This was in the early 80’s, so time line lines up with what you mentioned. And hey, Happy Thanks giving to you and all the HAMBrs as well!
"On the road again Just can't wait to get on the road again The life I love is building hot rods with my friends... Happy Thanksgiving! !
Back at you Boss. Most of us are awash in First World comfort, so much to be thankful for. And we are thankful beyond words for your first class character and vision that the HAMB is a reflection of. Thankful for this marvelous Ryan’s World every day!
For Us, this place has been a piece of normality for quite some time. So, from Me and the rest of the Hoodlums, I say Thank You! Happy Thanksgiving to You and Yours, Carp.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and all here. The HAMB is a Blessing for many of us Old Timers for which I Thank You ! and the group that keeps it going.
Thanks Boss you as well enjoy Family Time Ryan Quote"THANK YOU FELLAS. I love ya all… and I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving while counting your own blessings. I’ll be busy as hell counting my own until Monday or so… See y’all then!"
Though I may not drive A geat big, Cadillac (diamond in the back-sunroof top-diggin the scene with a gangsta lean) I am thankful for what I got especially for the people. For the tragically unhip to my goofy lyric drop:
Every morning you wake up and your feet hit the floor is a good day, after that some days are better than others. Start each day counting your blessings, it makes life's small curses a little easier to deal with. Happy Thanksgiving.
Best wishes to my HAMB family. Not many places a bunch of misfits like us can get together and have a common interest and mostly get along with each other. As the ruler gets shorter, and the nights get longer, we all can reflect on what has been and what will come to all of us eventually, and make the best of what we have left, hopefully making our days and maybe someone else's day a bit brighter.
It is so easy to dwell on the negative things and not constantly be thankful for the blessings in our lives. Hope all you guys have a great Thanksgiving. HRP
I have a lot to be thankful for. An amazing wife and 4 great kids, a steady job and a great church community. And, for being a teacher with a week off at Thanksgiving, so I can finally install the dropped axle in my 39...
OK OK OK.... this ain't Facebook, let's get back to hot rods damnit (sorry, I had to do it you big softies) got an email a couple of weeks ago, paramount arts center in Ashland was asking if we'd be interested in opening up for Willie, my first thought was damn! How old is Willie now? Then my thoughts went to hell yeah! I've opened up for Keith Whitley, Ky Headhunters, T Graham Brown (which was one of my favorites), Confederate Railroad, Gene Watson, Diamond Rio, Kenny Mellons, The Steel Woods, hell I can go on and on! But the opportunity to play music with Willie Nelson? Fuck yeah! That's history right there, if that ain't tradition, I'll kiss your ass! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you beasts!!!
Happy Thanksgiving from WV! We just had our annual community Thanksgiving Dinner at the Fork Ridge Baptist Church. Turkey with all the trimmings, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, and deserts. Friends, family, community.
Happy Thanksgiving To All Parts of the Hamb No Matter were we Live All our Fellow Hamb's May your Day be GREAT. Just My 3.5 cents Live Learn & Die a Fool
We definitely have a lot to be thankful for and it is always good to reflect on that. Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys as well! And, thanks to @Ryan for allowing all of us hoodlums to hang out here. Pretty sure I have met some of my closest friends in life through the HAMB.
That was the "IRS Tapes"- Willie did a concert on the driving range at Silverado Country Club in '91 that was part of it- my buddies who were contractors had a side business building temp event stages, and we built the stage for Willie. Somewhere I have a bunch of pics of stage building, unloading equipment, and backstage during the concert. A certain very large gentleman from a local "organization" discovered the large cooler full of beer in the back of my 427- powered Highboy beside the stage, and took up residence while waiting to collect their "cut" lol. Got a t-shirt around here somewhere
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow HAMBers Now, gotta go find my "stretchy" pants...got some serious eatin' to do
