1930 Chevy truck- I want to replace the original steering box with a power steering gear box- wanting to keep it mounted on the inside/going through the frame to the outside so as to not loose the original look. Suggestions (as well what maybe to avoid)? Thanks.
Both Ecklers, and Classic Chevy sell a kit for the Toyota box to fit 55-59 Chevy trucks. It has a adapter plate that allows mounting through the frame. Not cheap, but worth a look to see if it looks like you could do the same.
Early 80s 2 wheel drive pick up has a power steering box that fits nicely . Tough to see the box but great fit on my 34 chev truck
Here are some pictures ,appears the box is an 83 has to be 2 wheel drive pick up .If you can find the pump with it ,they are small with a remote fill great set up !!!!
The box is bolted to the frame from the underside, the last 2 pictures you can see the bolt in the boxed frame .
