Traded into a Model A project, disassembling some of the stuff I wasn’t going to use and found this. Figured I’d share. Yikes!!

  5. I'm hoping that was done for a mock up, not for driving! Wow.

The wishbones looked similarly as questionable on the split tie rod end. I figured it was just a "period correct" jam a drag link into the hole and stick weld 'er up. Wasn't expecting these though. :D

  12. That looks like hardware store all-thread welded onto spring perches with the original studs through the axle cut off? Ford didn't cut corners when it came to metallurgy. Old Ford axles and related components are some of the toughest steel ever made. All thread doesn't have the strength the original Ford studs had/

I guess when it underwent repair they destroyed the perches removing them which we've seen here and a garage of shame repair was enacted...and someone went on and drove on that grenade with the pin pulled but lived by the luck of the draw...crazy but not at all surprising...a solution that casts a truly different light indeed...

Makes you wonder what else they did...that shit could kill you......maybe they did contribute to someone's misfortune with the evidence hidden in the twisted wreckage...Fuck that is scary shit...

Could have been a wagon on the farm...that would make the act of more forgivable...still dangerous as hell but confined to the ever dangerous farm setting

  25. Well, we had those 5 MPH suspension parts way before the 5 MPH bumpers. Good thing they never got over 5 MPH or they would have broke resulting in a fast stop in the ditch.
