I do know a guy that doesn't drive his car at all. It's an old jag, and it's been restored impeccably. He hauls it to shows, pushes it off the trailer. After the show he pulls it into the trailer with a winch.

Not my style at all. What's the point?

I drove my ‘29 yesterday, and will as long as the weather stays good. Used to live in AZ but live in WY now..

If I were a bit closer, I’d join in on any cruise you wanted to organize. You have some nice scenery out there.

Life got in the way this year, so only about 1800 miles. I’ll have to work on that next year.

Dropped the top today and went for a drive. 2600 miles since July. Going to body shop next month for the winter. 254348287_4843176505706597_27827887740849400_n.jpg

  9. I am scared to drive mine. I would rather just look at it in the shop and dust it off every now and then... I would hate to get mine dirty or worse yet, hit a bug or something.

This is about a month ago. I took a couple of bags of yard waste to the compost site. Today, I went on about a 60 mile ride just because the weather is still good. Hope to tomorrow, too.

  13. In all honesty, my 56 has averaged right at 2,000 or so miles a year and it feels like I never drive it. Not long ago, I was averaging about 3000 miles a month (36,000 a year) on my 60 T-bird since it was my daily. All in all, I don’t see a reason to have a car I can’t drive as much as possible. Pretty sure that has now rubbed off on my two teenage boys as well. One of them is daily driving a 59 Edsel and the other is daily driving a slightly OT by a few years 4-speed roadster vette.

Don't forget there's a "Thru you windshield" thread here, those photos would fit nice there.

  17. All this talk about driving our cars made me take mine on about 150 mile round trip this afternoon to go mow a yard. Any excuse is a good one...

I drive my ‘37 or ‘51 most of the time. I figure I am not getting any younger and I want to enjoy them while I can.

  21. Probably put 1000 or so miles on mine in the last couple weeks driving it daily while I am working on other cars in the family...

Driving season is done around here, and I hate it when I have to call the insurance guy and put them in storage. I drive mine as much as possible from spring to fall. When I was a kid my dad had (he still has it) a '63 Falcon that he never drove, except to car shows every now and then. I used to ask him why he never drove it and he said it was for special occasions. It probably got 400-600 miles a year, maybe. I decided at a young age that if I ever got a hot rod I was gonna drive it all the time. I try to daily it as much as I can...

I drove fifty miles one way to a Veteran appreciation dinner put on by the Rotary Club, first time this daughter had ridden in the Stude although both of her sons spent a little time with me building it:) It was a good day:)
