  1. No, it's not mine.
No I'm not working on my El Camino.
Yes this is someone else's car.

This is in need of some decent replacement, metal. Already have the lower qtrs, the trunk floor panels and the another piece that sandwiches between the reinforcement and the upper, outer rear sheetmetal.

Looking for some decent rust/rot free (stop laughing) metal to fix this mess..

    Holie trunk floor Batman...
If you can't find the parts look at a trunk floor for a 77 to 92 Chevy full size, sometimes you get lucky and can make it work.

  3. They want everything "stock".. gonna be a "show car" ( rolls eyes) .. appreciate the info

If the rest of the car looks as bad what you've shown in the picture your friend is beating a dead horse. My advice is to sever any and all communications with your friend until he comes to his senses and junks that thing.

If you were in Canada I'd get you a few whole cars to cut up that's in better shape than that car. But you're not...so no help here

Check with @Lloyd's paint & glass he is building one now and has been having a problem finding parts and he has looked everywhere.

ps. Good to see you posting on the HAMB again. :)

  10. I know what you're saying, but if the money's there, I'll fix it.

  11. That's what I'm looking for. A donor car(s)!

  12. Everything this "thing" needs, can be salvaged from a 4dr. Hopefully I'll find one. An it's good to be back.. !

  13. Yikes that’s an ambitious build. Good to see it saved!

Couldn't find a California car??? That looks worse than Chicago cars!

  16. Guessing why 1959/60 GM parts cars are bringing a premium !

If it were worth the cost to haul from Manitoba to the U.S. I could probably hook someone up with a semi load of 59-60's Chevs and Ponchos (a couple good 59 wagons too) just sitting in a field for far too long, waiting to be crushed - but the catch is they're Canadian cars, and surprisingly though they look the same, there could be big differences, the 60's pontiacs were built on Chevy frames, and are physically smaller cars, Weird eh?

Not weird just done I presume for economic reasons. And it does make restoring a Canadian Pontiac a whole lot easier. As to the PO’s situation a Canadian Chevy is an American Chevy so those cars you have would be just the ticket I bet...

  19. I've made couches out of nicer cars, but they were 4drs, to begin with. Haa!

  21. My thoughts, exactly. But money talks

  22. Can-danuh-duh also made BelAit coupes, which the US didn't. Neato!

  23. I found this 4dr on IG, but I haven't heard back from the coupes owner. I'd cut this up in a minute. Sell the rest 20211110_181200.jpg

  25. Mine is a 1960, but I found quarter panels from a company in Ohio. $400 per side. And my floorboards are 66 chevelle. Almost a perfect fit, they were something like $120 each side, included half of the transmission tunnel. I bought the complete right side of the outer tailgate skin on ebay for $75 including shipping. Windshield was $180 my cost, and the new gasket from precision was $30. I'm not doing too bad on parts. Worse part is the ridiculous price of used stainless, and every piece i find is beat all to hell. I'll weld up the holes before I go that route ;) body filler is much cheaper, I'm not trying to restore it, this is a hot rod forum.

  27. We take our HotRods seriously, don't we! Not a question

  28. Back at today. Past couple days, I was replacing the trunk floor in a 69 Camaro. The more I strip away on this coupe, it's getting a little better-er..

    IMG_20211111_171416_224.jpg IMG_20211111_171416_240.jpg IMG_20211111_171416_244.jpg IMG_20211111_171416_246.jpg

I added those 'just in case' lil kick stands.. just in case. Doesn't seem to need them. Better safe than sorry.

I see a lot of stretcher shrinker work in your future. You really have to keep us in the loop on this build
