Are they still charging $5 a louver?

Anyone punch louvers (auto related) & if so what was the most challenging job? Mine was a early '50's Hudson hood.

It's all about have it your way, we all build or buy our Hot Rod to suit our needs, isn't that what it's all about?

  10. LOUVRED TRUNK-LIDS...WHY?

There is a easy answer for the question, because old school, traditional hot rodders are gluttons for punishment, simply put they are masochist and like to inflict pain on themselves.

Think about how time consuming and gratifying it is to prep & sand louver's, not to mention how painful it is to the fingers, I absolutely love louvers I detest sanding them.

When I was prepping the original 25 louver hood for my old beater it had been painted multiple times, I didn't get it perfect but the car is a beater, that's 100 louvers inside and out, I can't imagin multiplying that number by say 300 -3" louvers also.

I do admire the guys that so it thought, the cars look great! HRP

This is one of those "to each, their own" deals, people are always looking to set their hot rod apart from the herd.
When I was discussing having the hood on my 66 Suburban done with a combination of "innie" and "outie" louvers people looked at me like I had three eyes.
It's not something you see everyday and that was my goal, I'm happy with the outcome. 20160802_110027.jpg
