I moved my seat backrest back six inches so I could have some additional leg room. It was easy enough, and made a huge difference.
That's a neat idea. But I'm not a very tall (5'9") or heavy (150lbs) person by any means so stock location will probably be okey for me.
Pushed it outside to have a little look, looking pretty promising IMO. Think I'm going to add atleast 2 more leaves to the front because I think when the spring settles after some driving it will become too low in the front. And a bonus picture of one of the new doors in the making, although I can't take any credit for the metal work. This will be all for a while, I put the car in storage at a different location because my new (to me) '53 Customline will be arriving any day now and I need the space in my garage to get that ready for this years driving season.
Even if this project is stalled at the moment due to my Customline that doesn't stop me from buying parts for it. Latest aquisition is a set of Ford script hubcaps that I bought from @Hitchhiker, great guy to deal with. Not mint condition but perfect for this car.
Well, a couple of months ago I decided to downsize to only one vintage car and I ended up selling this car. I feel kinda bummed that I wasn't able to finish it and drive it but I got to a point where I just realized that having two project cars isn't for me. I just don't have the energy to focus on two old cars at the same time and that takes all the fun out of the hobby for me. Therefore I'm keeping the driveable project which is my '53 Customline, I'm already feeling a lot happier about everything in my life and I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun with the '53 next driving season.
I think that o ring goes on the sector shaft with a flat washer and is sandwiched between the frame and steering box, kind of like a seal for the sector shaft
