Nice work! When I first glanced at the headers I thought you were going crazy on us....then I realized the vertical "pipe" was your floor jack handle.......lol!

 

No stacks through the hood on this one.

Topher5150....it's bad enough to even say that it has a supercharger and serpentine belt on here. I doubt stacks through the hood would go over very well. That's why I'm doing my best to not show the motor anymore.

 

I have rear socks now. The shocks are Pete and Jake's with upper weld on crossmember mounts and lower mounts that weld to the rear. Instead of using the lower mounts in the kit, I used the Ford explorer spring plates as I do with my explorer rear swaps, and cut the shock mount enough to bend them to where they cleared the rear with enough angle to mount the shock to the upper mount and then welded in metal to reinforce the cut.

Ok... here we go again.... anyone out there have a rust free passenger rear quarter clip with inner wheel well to trunk floor to rear trunk pan off of a wrecked or parts coupe. This is the section I need minus the fender. Just the rear half quarter with inner structure to the trunk floor back to the and including trunk weatherstrip channel and trunk filler panel. I know it's a weird request but the coupe back was hit ast some point and is full of lead and I can't get it to play nice. Thanks for following along and the input.

Does anyone have measurements or a template for short for windows glass? I want to cut my own butt my doors came without glass. Thanks. A downloadable template would be awesome.

Sorry for the late reply, somehow missed this earlier.....
I bought a lower wishbone cup off of eBay, not sure but think it might have been for a Model A, it was about 1" deeper than my factory Lincoln cup. I took a piece of 1/4" flat steel and cut a notch the size of the cup and put the corresponding holes on each side. I then got some grade 8 bolts the right thread to fit the factory welded nuts in the crossmember, put the thicker cup on the top of the flat steel and the original cup on the bottom in a sandwich. This gave me the depth of the cup drop, about 2" or so. In other words, the center of the ball was now 1/2 of the thickness of the ball lower. I also added spacers on the mounting bolts so they would have less strain on them, and fastened this whole sandwich to the original crossmember.

This lowered mount dropped the wishbone 2" or so at the ball end. Steering wasn't affected, it might have even made it better with the little bit of caster it introduced. It gave me transmission pan to wishbone clearance of about 1". I have some pics, but they're hostage on my other dead computer right now, when I get a replacement sometime after the first of the year maybe I can retrieve them and post them for you.

 

Ok... need some help again. While trying to figure out my gutted doors on the business coupe it seems it didn't have a division bar between the vent wing and window glass instead it has a run as part of the of the door glass bracket. Is this correct? Im a little lost.

Congratulations for taking on such a huge project. Great thread. If your having a hard time finding short door trim, maybe you can shorten some long door trim to fit your short doors. Might be worth it.

 

My doors were disassembled when I got my car, but it looks to me that the divider for the vent window is actually the front channel of the door window glass. Look up window channel kit for your car on Bob Drakes website, the picture should clear it up for you.

 

I believe that a front door from a Fordor should be the same as your short door. Might make finding the trim you're looking for a little easier

Dash looks good! Clean work on the narrowing job.

 

It's turning out pretty good Squablow. I had to narrow it almost 5 inches and then extend the drivers side a little to center the steering column. Never done this before but it looks really good in the car if you ask me.

 

And.....pay no attention to the "scrap metal" shelves in the background

 

Made a little more headway. I made a master cylinder cover for the floor with a removable plate to add brake fluid if I have to. It's not beautiful but hey..... it's not a visible piece either.

Pretty sure the "Super Deluxe" coupe also has a "chrome" trim piece on post side of door glass to match body trim; and channel that rides on regulator at bottom of glass has tab for mounting it with two screws? Not sure if this changes door glass dimensions to accommodate trim?

 

Well... it's been a long time. I switched some things up over the last year and half. I bought another body but did not give up on the original body. May end up with two now instead of one. Black body is going on the frame of my original posted project and the sedan to short door is going on another frame.

 

Had to make a trunk for the black car and it needs some rocker work but the floors were surprisingly very solid. The wheel wells need some work and one again...... needs some rain gutter work. Really wish I could find a rain gutter kit or some that can make them for purchase.

 

The sanded body is my original car I started with(sedan to coupe).

 

Glad to see you're still at it. Those rain gutters are a bitch to fix, I've been there. New body looks nice and I can see why you went for it, but I do hope the converted body gets some love at some point, that was a cool project and a clean looking conversion.

 

Trust me Squablow, it's not getting discarded. I need to find a good frame with paperwork. The black car was a failed no title project. I just wanted the body. It had no drivetrain. At least the dash and everything else was in decent shape. It even had the radio and heater. Here's some other photos. Note if I can figure out how to split the front wishbone to clear the t5, I'd be happy. Hard to find pictures of it done on a 42-48 ford.
