Like the whitewalls but prefer to see biasply on spoked rims.

You want the truth? Hot rods are supposed to have more "big" on the rear and more "little" on the front. I can't actually see any size difference on your car at all. Looks like 225/60-15 all the way around to me.

What happened to the Firestones that were on it? It seems you have graduated to "sensible shoes".

I'll give you a thumbs up just for asking this bunch for opinions, knowing you're gonna get some rough ones.... Lol.

    Looks great to me.

I think it looks good, nice rims too.
But fear that front tires are a little too wide an heavy*,that may add to any prob's the front end may have. Hope for best though,no probs.

You asked. I'm not a fan of either the wheel or the tire.

  15. I much prefer the look in your avatar photo. Black walls do it for me. Sweet little Coupe though. I would drive it either way..........Don.

  19. I gotta admit, the new wheels are cool but I like the bias rubber rake better.

Regardless, our opinions don't matter, are you happy with the results? HRP

I'm biased towards "biased" on a hot rod.

What counts is that you like it.

  21. You asked - Nope, don't like it at all. Front tires are way too big. Don't like the wheels. Not a fan of the Wide Whites unless it's an earlier era build. I would have just put beauty rings on the original set up and called it a day.

    I am a plain black rim lover, but that car is so cool, most any wheel/tire combo would look great.;
    Love it.

  25. Bias-ply tires for a 40's-'early '60's hot rod. Especially when it's fenderless.

If you must have radials, use Excelsiors or Coker Classics.

You guys are right, fronts are a little big. But the wheels and tire were a package deal. Backs are 235/75-15 and the front are 205/75-15

Still have the Firestones, these are 235/75 rear and 205/75 front. But still not big and little like the Firestones.

  28. That's what sizes I have on my 57 pickup, I like the wide whites but also think it'd look better with a smaller tire up front.

    I liked it better before.
    I don't drive it, though.
    But I think...
You've got these wheels and tires, drive the heck out of 'em and put the other ones on occasionally. Like those really nice dress shoes you hardly ever wear, cuz they hurt your feet a little.

Your coupe is nicer than anything I will ever own but since you asked I vote no on the white walls. But JMO.
