Technical mirrors below the window

I found this nifty Galaxie mirror the other day and thought it might look good on my 47 Ford. I've seen mirrors mounted below the window of similar cars and was wondering how functional it would be in this position?

 

works fine if you are sitting high enough.

 

Might work, but IMHO will look way out of place on a 47. That round body needs a round mirror. Kind of like when they were installing square Cadillac mirrors and pillow top seats in mercs in the 80's.
