  1. This is awesome. I just found this. You'll enjoy it. This was taken a year after the fatal accident of 1955.

  2. Neat. Bet there were a few cyclists  who shit themselves :D

That's great. Goodwood races are also fun to watch, lots of sports cars of the HAMB era racing full-out even today, some worth millions and getting pounded on mercilessly. I've got a wrecked E-type Jag I'm hoping to resurrect but I don't think I've got the balls to race it like that, even if I could.

Interesting video. As a kid in '59 & '60, reading the rare automotive books
I could get my hands on, Mike Hawthorne, Peter Collins and Sterling Moss
always seemed to be mentioned. Gentlemen, playboy racers. And the cars
    had real style.

    Thanks for sharing!

BTW, there was a lot more mixing between sportscar/roadracing guys and hot rodders than ya might think.
The first Cobras were built in Dean Moon's shop and Phil Remington (Shelby's chief engineer) built his reputation with a Bonneville record-holding Modified roadster.

  9. Very cool video with a certain lack of concern for safety.

  10. I can't believe the amount of random people and vehicles -going in both directions!

  11. I found his hand placement (particularly hanging onto the spoke of the steering wheel) interesting.
    How times have changed.
