I have seen those. I am not crazy about the looks but it may be an option. Thanks

IF you can find one ...the whole set up will run you a couple grand or more!
Eye candy gets expen$ive! 600cfm Holley with a small chrome air cleaner still screams 60's.

I have seen the edelbrock x2 I believe ,it’s a 6x2 crossram at a swap. I also have seen cobra and Shelby 3x2 but never the edelbrock 3x2. I would love to have one for my bronco . I know blue thunder was making the 3x2 but for Holley carbs or 2100s. I love a good old small block ford all dressed up..

I can't resist. Porknbeaner, I know how you came by that name. You've spent so much money on cars, porknbeans are all you can afford to eat. Been there, done that; just ask the misses.

  18. Just to be clear, are you trying to adapt a manifold and carb set up that predates the engine design? I doubt it's going to fool anybody. Why not dress it up like a mid 60's Cobra or Hi Po 289, and call it a day?

If SBCs (apparently of any year) are acceptable I think such an induction system would make a SBF far, far more interesting.

  21. SBC' s came out in 1955. I'm sure people started putting 97's , 3, 4 ,6 at at time on them shortly thereafter.
By the time the 60's car around and the 221 SBF, Holley 4 bbls replaced a lot of that stuff. I doubt there were many 3x2 221's, but if they made a manifold , I guess someone was doing it with 289's.
This idea just reminds me of the Olds Rocket SBC valve covers;)

FYI the 5.0 truck intake is a lot larger and has bigger ports to open up for mounting multiple carbs.

I always wanted to mount two Webber VW carbs on a custom made plate and have 4 stacks in a row, kind of like the Autolite inline 4 barrel carb. Which was used on the early cobras and GT40's I think. Now that would look more correct indeed.

How about the Weiand "Say Why And" Colt 500 or the 180° Weiand?

4 barrel intake that was offered for early 60's SBF a period correct carb and something like a Hellings and Stellings bell style air cleaner would look plenty old school and drive pretty damned decent for about a third of the cost.

Unshined 2 nailed exactly what I was thinking about while I was piddle farting around. You don't need three leaky carbs on a gawd awful expensive intake to be "Old school".

Haha! Agreed. Kind of like gawd awful expensive brake drums that are less efficient than much less expensive discs but man are they cool looking! :)

Every time I took a 4 barrel off a “great running engine” and put 3 2’s on it was only great when it was stopped and I’d wiped the dripping fuel off. What kind of vehicle is it going in-plays into what’s “old school”.

Carroll Shelby sold them from '63-'65, I believe, when he came out with the Cobra upgrade kits for 260, then 289. They were being reproduced a few years ago.
