Yeah... When I die and/or escape to an island for good - he's the dude that you will have to put up with when logging on here.
Great video. Thx I sometimes think I enjoy hearing a banger better than an angry flathead. I need to get busy and build one. Inspiration.
Fall in Oregon, it's tough to beat. Be sure to check out Joey's build thread... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/building-my-first-roadster-in-san-francisco.1204990/
Well I can't imagine retiring... I mean, how do you retire a passion? And I don't plan on dying anytime soon either, so... But if a tiger eats me off the coast of Kauai and someone has to put up with y'all, I pick Joey. He's young... and smarter than me...
I've been following him for quite some time...we like similar things Hotrod/Custom wise and I've done the Harley shuffle back when I was his age too with one they'd of loved to have...I'd take it back in a heartbeat too......I wish I'd had as much fun with the vintage Hotrods as he does but I enjoy what I have and who knows maybe there will be one or two more before I checkout... Quite Happy with the gang of Hoodlums, High Fives to all of you...I love the vids, moving pics for another perspective...so much to absorb...Have Fun, be safe as @woodbutcher (Leo) would say...and Go Joey Go...
the one with the bobbed fenders? It popped up here and IG like a year ago and for the life of me I can’t remember enough to form a decent search to find it. Gah. Joey and Yamas adventures on video are fantastic. Really dig them as little pops of moving life in Joeys thread, which is also fantastic. clearly a fan over here.
Yes @Tim it seems familiar to me as well but I’m not sure where I’ve seen it. If I know @J.Ukrop (like I think I do ) it’s right up his alley as well so maybe he can shed some light?!
The medicinal qualities and magic from a road trip, cannot be surpassed nor dispensed from any pharmacy! The adventures of Joey and his writing and photographic coverage of events, is good medicine for us all!
Reading The Jalopy Journal has been part of my morning routine for at least half of my life. Reading today's post? Man, you're too good to me. Thanks for all you do, both for me and for all of us here on the Journal x H.A.M.B. Having spent 18 years with Tigers in Detroit and four more with them at Mizzou, I know you'll be able to take whatever the islands throw at you. Younger? I suppose so. I was going to try to talk you down on the smarter part, but what do they say in the industry? There's no such thing as bad press?
That's Jerry Chinn's survivor five-window. Jerry's based out of Seattle and one of the coolest people I've ever met. One day I'm going to write an article about him called "No Mechanical Sympathy." He pushes his machines to the limit.
@cactus1 as I’m scratching my brain tonight I’m thinking maybe his dad is a member and we all caught a glimpse of it when it had been discovered? Or… did joey find it? I remember something about a discussion on the fenders and not touching them. it’ll rattle out one of these afternoons I’m sure lol back to your scheduled programming
The not touching the fenders was in his Roadster Thread I believe...and a moment in a video within it...
