II found two cast iron ends from a stadium/theatre chair at an auction. Bought them for $7 and they were badly rusted. Wire brush, rattle can, lattice and some scrap framing boards ended up as this. Wanted to do all the hardware in brass but at 60 to 90 cents a bolt I went with the cheap stuff. I used gun bluing to darken them up.
Not that much work actually, a little time consuming maybe. Picked earth tones on purpose, they worked with the wood.
