...Quite the mix going on here...20s back mid 30s cowl, and early 30s grille...

  3. This is still one of my favorite threads. I love goofy stuff. Here’s my goofy truck on the way back from the Gathering at the Roc last weekend. Maybe some day I’ll finish it? C4B76EFF-7803-4045-AF33-95FDEEDD33CA.jpeg

...Captured and shared by Hamber @Marcia this Roadster was given the Velvet Hotrod Glove Treatment in its Showready appearance...

It's truly interesting the transition Hotrod made from purpose built Road Warriors to gleaming Showcars with Custom details throughout...there is also a divide between Raw n' Nasty and Show n' Nasty but personaly I admire them even more after a day or two on the road after the show...but what a sharp 50s early 60s T this is...

...Sid did it his own way...I believe this was done prior to his aquiring it...nope this was under newer ownership of Don Newhouse when he did a Poncho engine swap...in the late 50s...

This Roadster is no stranger to this Thread with its Roaring Roadster past...

It seems it is Hamber @KKrod's and has went through a series of changes to a more Traditional Style over the Jalopy racer look of the Yesteryear...truly not uncommon with old Hotrod builds...especially when looks are such a personal thing...

    old build?
Ad said originally had a straight 6.

  12. Looking at the hood, that ride had dual carbs at one time.
    I kinda dig it

That is about where they would be with the 153-181 in it the holes look too far apart. Form the longer hood & extra room length wise I bet it had a Chevy or Jimmy six. I usually don't care for these cut up bodied sports car wanna' be things but this one looks pretty cool to me. Probably done at a time and place where there was a headlight height requirement. There is a ton of possibility there.

...Perhaps the Ole Rusty shadow of its former self may have been in some way inspired by the first image said to be a Gow Job from the 40s shared by the Late Hamber @Track-T as you did allude and possibly the second, beach buggies from the early 50s...

    ...and lastly maybe this...

...There certainly was no shortage of Hotrodders that enjoyed and built big engined Compacts...certainly not for everyone but there was a movement that all through the years since the inception of Automobile to build smaller more economical vehicles...so piled in the junkyard heaps there were many candidates for the dream to be had...

The first one looks to have a long hood too. I wonder if there is an inline under it?
I have one of those flathead powered dune buggies in the yard. The last is cool too.

Note the headlight position too...that could be a clue of the era of the original routes of the Hop Up...
