Since it's not always easy to come up with a photo "art piece" (I don't use Photoshop),
I like to put 8x10 collages together using the photos of others. This one obviously
focuses on Fords, but I've done Chevys, Mopars, Corvettes, front engine rails, etc. I dig
    doing it with Instamatic photos.
I also do them with my own pics.

    Hello,

There was a time when nothing mattered except for getting the best waves that came rolling into the surf break. It took a lot of style and skill to maneuver the moves it takes to surf well. Sometimes, we fell trying to do some extra stuff, staying in the tube too long, trying for 10 toes over, not realizing that the bottom just sucked out and you are falling 6 feet down on a drop. But, consistency paid off as we learned each time we got slapped in the face with the force of the wave heading for shore.

The time it took to get to the waves and surf spots was always in our minds, ever since my brother and I went surfing in the 1958 Impala with two boards sticking out of the back. Those days will forever be etched into our memory banks.

As we got better in our style and skill, we wanted to stay longer at the specific surf spots. So, we knew we needed a van of sorts for those long weekends and multiple day vacation times. Most station wagons were ok, but privacy was not the best, even with side/rear curtains. A USA made panel truck was chosen, as they had a lot of rearward space and a v8 motor. But, it was taking time due to the choices and our current lifestyle of school and college for my brother.

He bought an old VW van from some kid in Los Angeles and started to use that rolling metal shell for our surf trips, between college vacations and summers. Our thoughts were to make a cool custom hot rod panel truck as a reflection of our hot rod days and drag racing skills. We liked a friend’s 46 old woody, but it was a station wagon with windows and lack of security/privacy. So, we talked about getting a sedan delivery, but thought it was not tall enough in the back to sit up and eat on long camping vacations.

We saw a few 1955 Ford panel trucks doing their delivery stuff in our neighborhood and decided that it would give us a great base for starting another build of a surf inspired/camping hot rod instead of the rolling thin-walled box of a VW van. Plus, it would have a modern v8 motor and not a vastly underpowered 4 cylinder motor.

We went as far as taking measurements inside of the rear cave and had plans drawn out. The thing was on its way of becoming our build. But, college called my brother away too many times and the plans were nice, but unfinished.

So, as a tribute to the hard work my brother and I put in to the rough design from 1960, I created a Halloween inspired 1955 Ford Panel Truck with custom accessories. (Orange powder coated Skylark Wire Wheels, etc.)

To appease my wife’s current thinking of pulling an Airstream Trailer to empty spots all over California, I added a custom pumpkin inspired trailer with all built-in stuff for two old folks to enjoy camping and the great outdoors. The Moon Discs make it streamlined as much as an oval shape can conjure.

A Big Thanks To All Those That Share Their Talents Every Week (Not Yelling, Caps For Emphasis). I have been here long enough to know your individual Artworks at a glance because you all have your own Style. Just wanted to make sure that you know that you are appreciated because Likes never seem to be Enough. One of these days I might throw one of my humble renderings up for view ( lots of ideas in the cranium, but I have to Make the time to put it down). 'Til Then, Carp.
