  3. Dang, Mark, surely that's low. I'm gonna say 1.2 million....surely the most iconic custom of all time is worth as much as well optioned muscle car values. Please tell me that. LOL

$190,000. Iconic to us, YES. But I don't think that many of the "Mecum crowd" will think it's iconic enough to run it up:(. Just not as flashy as a Thunderbolt or a Hemi car...I hope I'm wrong.

I agree with Mark that customs always slump a little at auction, but I think this is going to be the exception.

    137,000.

I'm with hotrodjack on this one. Unless.... Moriarty already has a max bid of 500,000 in already!! Lol

From a collectors point of view I imagine they are willing to spend more on more main stream muscle cars like stated above, it's probably a safer investment and a wider audience to sell to at a later date vs this merc.

  19. Without getting political, this is probably not the best time to sell a historic car. I think it will hurt the final price.
    My guess is $1,450,000.

I don't have a guess on the selling price but for some reason I see it not meeting the reserve this time around.

I am more interested in seeing what the TV Tommy Ivo stuff brings plus the other cars out of the Runyon collection

  23. I predict it doesn't sell. Interested buyers had a few months, at least, to make a deal with the family and it didn't seem to sell so unless Mecum bought it and think they can make more than anyone offered the family on it I don't see it making reserve.

  24. You are right Mark, they normally do but then again we are not talking about what many consider to be the Holy Grail of Customs.

I predict the Hirohata Merc will set a new high mark in excess of 2 million. I only wish I was rich because I would be bidding. HRP

Less than 200,000. It won't sell.
