  2. Tighten until you strip the threads and back it off a 1/4 turn

  3. Thats pretty tight!

  4. I tightened my CE forged perch bolts with Gr8 nuts to 220 ft-lbs and the shock mounts stayed in place.

I suspect some other brands of parts may not like that.

I would say "very tight". Use Locktite.
If there is enough thread double nut it.

I've even put a shim between the axle and the wishbone/batwing to make sure everything tightened up solidly.

That bat wing bracket looks pretty beefy. Do you know who made it?

  13. Why so tight? Isn't there a 'key' to keep the shock mount square on the perch bolt?

They have no key to hold in place. Screenshot_20211020-203231_Chrome.jpg

I believe the thread is a 5/8-18 NF thread. Material equivalent to grade 8 bolt? chart below may give you a good starting point.

I tig welded mine to the bat wings so the shock mounts don’t rotate.

According to Jason Slover at P&J’s 55 ft lbs. He should know. That’s what I tightened mine to.

  23. There, fixed it for you;)
