Stephanie it's probably cheaper to buy a repro car than just the parts. But that would also make a great little stroller for him. Just add a wagon tongue, and a bottom. I've had a lot more fun, and miles by doing that with this one. Both of my kids , and my four grandkids have used it. Ron....
Thanks for the input! I think I found a steering wheel that will work, just waiting till I can get.the funds together and order. But I will definitely keep the idea in mind!
Someone gave us 3 old petal cars a few years ago. One was a boat. We carried them to a car show with other car parts to sell at the flee market. These 3 petal cars were sold as soon as we pulled into our spaces. Had no idea they were so popular. Page C.
This is one my Grandpa built for me when I was a baby as you can see by the "before" picture..god I miss him, still have the pedal car at age 24, my Daughter due April 1st will use it and the one I'm gonna restore for her.
Heres a little tractor that I picked up. Hoping to get it restored but Im looking for pedals and a smokestack.
My brother just acquired this old finned out fire truck pedal car. He wants me to do a little more.. ..something...to it and give a new "Cool" paint job...he mentioned lowering it and doing something with the grill and headlights. Mmmmm..? Well now if ...will see.
Wow ! That's a great one. Sorry I've never seen one like it. But if I ever found one. It would come home with me, if I had enough $$$$ Thanks for sharing it.
Is it a legit pedal car? steering, pedals, etc? It reminds me of something that I saw at an amusement park ride. Very cool
here is a cutaway of the real car and I bought a battery powered one at Hershey that needs restoration I will add photos soon
this is the battery powered one I can only find that red pedal version so i suspect they were pretty limited in production when that model Ferrari was be ing produced?
That's a really cool Junior Tractor! It's a 1948-49 BMC (Binghamton {NY} Manufacturing Corp.). BMC made pedal cars & tractors from 1948 until 1954, when they were bought by AMF. These Tractors were the first riding toys that BMC made.
AMF as in the same company that bought Harley Davidson in the '70s?????..... And made bowling balls????...
They came with little trailers too but I haven’t seen one yet. If i can find a set of wheels it might be fun to weld one up.
I got lucky this year to find 2 unrestored pedal cars from 1933 and 1936, love their patina and condition
Great finds CITROENANTIQUES. I restored this one for my daughter 30 years ago. It was a rusted basket case. This photo was on my P.C. The second one I just took the other day. It is of her daughter Ruthie. But it's still on my phone. So the double post?
