  2. Not sure of the year, found it in the bin at work donkeys years ago.
    Was my everyday tool box when i worked in the field, it earned every ding and scratch, now it sits on my desk.
    It's Australian made, back when this country actually made stuff instead just shipping iron ore to China so we can buy it back as cheap jack shit...

    I saved this one from the old dumpster at work. It's a Hazet. German made, apparently it's highly sought after by the VW crowd. Hazet is the company who made the original tool kit for VW. Best I can tell it early 60s. Screenshot_20210819-214109_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20210819-214113_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20210819-214117_Photos.jpg

  5. Fact check;
    Hazet makes/made good stuff.
    older German made stuff was all well made.
    looks VERY well built
    typical German engineering, WAY over built and complicated for a what should be a simple tool cart.:D;)

    That should clean up well. I love my old Hazet Assistent. I fabricated a work light for it too. I missed out on a bunch of originals so I repurposed a vintage Craftsman lathe light.

    My girlfriend found a toolbox at a yard sale yesterday, wasn’t really with the stuff for sale, but the guy said he take $25 for it. She didn’t get a chance to take a picture of it, but described it to me. I was on the fence about driving an hour this morning to go look at it but I did. When I got there I told him that she had told me about it and he took me to it. He said we wanted $25 for it, but would rather sell it and the contents for $40. It had a hodgepodge of junk tools, but after he accepted my $20 offer, he emptied the box and I backed the SUV into the driveway. I’ll post pictures as I get it clean it up.

    Not perfect, but I thought a pretty decent score for $5!

    @lostmind i think your right. I have no idea what the drawer pulls are from?!? I found a post that said the date code would be behind the emblem, I’ll have to wait and see if I can see it when I get home this evening.

    @lostmind i can’t find any numbers stamped on it, and it does look like the Remline pictures I’ve found online.

  20. I have several wrenches from this company that I picked up locally. They may have been liberated from any of the big 3 assembly plants in the area.

  24. I landed into this today. Internet says they started making these in 1958 till the early eighties. I thought it was half full of tools it is pretty heavy. Looks all original to me, handle, clasp, hinges, tray and paint. I may have to get better tools to put in it. F8C0CE6E-2198-40BF-ABB0-0FA126344AE6.jpeg

    My Dad passed away last summer and I inherited his tool boxes. He was a tool and die maker by trade, I was alway in awe of this gerstner machinists box. It is from about 1960

  27. Pretty sure that if you type tool, box and porn into your search engine...that’s not what you’re going to come up with. Just sayin’.... :)

  28. Thanks for the tip. Gotta sign off now, but I'll be back later.
