Got a couple cars with interior sun visors that are stuck and can't be rotated down. Anybody find a way to get these loose? I'm sure brute force will just break something, and any kind of penetrant or lube will soak through and stain them.

I've freed them up by removing them from the vehicle and working the pivot rod out, cleaning things up and slathering a small amount of grease on the shaft and reassembling.

If they are like most sun visors there are three screws, assuming you haven't taken them out already, once out they are a lot easier to "mess with". The 64 Fairlane sitting in the garage had some ham fisted rider (either my wife's grandpa or grandma) break part of it. I've JB welded the pieces and it seems ok.

Good luck and use surgeons hands:)

  4. If you loosen the screw it might need a screw driver to open the slot a bit.

If you only drive North and South, you won't need them;)
