So with the sale of my 1959 Nomad after 14 years... decided it was time for a new name. Since its not clear how long the Chieftain will be in the stable, and even if it is a 1951 (as the State of Minnesota has verified and not a 52 ?!?). Going forward I will be just using my name
Thanks, that is the basic plan once things are sorted and complete. Should be all set for spring of 22
Nice Pontiac. State of Minnesota is wrong on this one. Your car is definitely a 52 with a 1950 hood ornament. Check out this link to verify. http://theclassicpontiac.com/1952-pontiac.php
No, it went to a guy in Texas He is putting in a 327 and believe a new Transmission He actually knew about the build from the HAMB, which saved a lot of explaining It now also has wide white walls and spinner hubcaps I was ready for a new project and look forward to next summer with the Poncho
I know what you mean! Way back in the day (70's) I had a 50 sedan delivery and a 51 sedan. Even then the trim parts were really hard to find so much so that I put a 51 grille, hood ornament, grill & center medallion on my 50. The center medallion and hood ornament were NOS that I obtained from guys that dealt in NOS Chevy stuff.
I was already getting a lot of pushback form people who refused to believe that there ever was a 59 Nomad, Imagine whet some night do with the Pontiac in my avatar?
Congrats on the Pontiac! Unless it's had some surgery the single piece screen didn't come in until the back end of '52.. Real nice though. Hope you'll get to enjoy it, mine's been a lot of fun and yours should too. Phil
It was a two piece windshield, as the center gaps in the trim will attest. the new one is very nice and the top is tinted, assuming its fairly new.
Perhaps where will it be to and from? I see where it is now, TBD for the moment but may work out. Hopefully the 52 will be up to a trip of that length this year.
