Condolences @Blue One to you and your Family in your loss of Your Dad and I also extend thoughts to @Fitnessguy and Family with your Father in a very bad way... Regards, Stogy
October 28th and a beautiful sunny crisp Alberta fall day = roadster driving weather. 9 Celsius = 49 F Crisp and refreshing and best of all no bugs. Spent a couple of hours roaming around and just enjoying the day and the rumble of the Y Block. On one little blast from an intersection I dropped the C4 down to first gear and took off shifting the Gennie Shifter manually brought a satisfying chirp going into second gear and then up into 3rd and I was grinning like a kid I thought dang this Tim Mcmaster Y block really goes . I haven’t run it too hard previously but man it makes the RPU get up and dance Don’t know if I’ll get out again before the snow flies but I’ve been out the past 3 days just putting some kilometres on it and it’s day to day now.
...haven't got out much this fall but this was last year...it was stunning this year though and it's still happening...maybe tommorow...
Lost my Dad this week after a tough few months. Going to be hard to go in the shop for a while and I know driving the coupe will also be tough for a while. He's the reason I'm the car guy and man I am, so much to be thankful for. Spend time with your Dads if they're still around gents. Go for a rip for my Dad, that's what he loved!
So sorry to hear about your dad. It’s never easy to lose your father. God bless you and your family and give you peace and good memories of you father to soothe your grief knowing that his suffering is over. Every time I drive my RPU I remember dad sitting next to me smiling when I took him for a ride. I have a feeling that in time you’ll feel your dad’s presence next to you when you drive your coupe.
So sorry to hear this. My condolences to you and your family. Keep your Dads memory alive by speaking about him fondly and often. Cherish all the time you spent together and be that kind of Dad to your kids. Peace.
So sorry to hear that your Dad has passed, may he Rest in Peace and remain in your memory for ever and ever.
Fitness, condolences to you and your family in the passing of your Dad...I have been there and yes it's a very emotional experience to all affected...may he Rest in Peace...
Your Dad put some of himself into that car while helping with the build.....he'll always be there when you go for a rip. Condolences.
I'm sure you guys from the "Great White North" are aware of this but thought those "South of the border" might like to know of this event coming Summer/2022. https://driving.ca/column/collector-classics/collector-classics-historic-hot-rod-reunion-of-b-c
How’s this for Canadian Bacon served up on the 10th of November. It was a nice sunny day today and 3 degrees C. As the sun was dipping in the sky I pulled the RPU out of the garage and went for a little rip after dumping some fuel stabilizer into the tank. Not too often you can drive an open hot rod roadster in November around here .
No heater, just the Y block running at 180 degrees. Believe it or not it was quite pleasant. Not that I’d want to do a hiway trip but in town it was nice.
The last walk around before it went to bed. Really nice seeing everyones rides from coast to coast. @Stogy .... Maybe next summer ,If I can get home.... We should meet up at that Burger joint in Merrickville.... looks awesome.
That would be awesome Jeff...and your right the Ontario cruise window is really narrowing fast with plummeting temps, rain and snow in the forecast right now...it was a pretty good year despite the solice on the show and cruise front...
Cruising weather is over out here in the west. At least in the interior, the boys down in Van sneak out between rain I know. Lots of snow on the mountain passes now. Here's a pic of Dad on one of our last cruises before he ended up in hospital. Also spent the first day in the shop in a long time and set up Dad's mill. He made the bench and of course also modified the mill to belt drive from the cheap gears these mini mills come with. He was very talented at modifying tools and machining in general. All self taught and he just had that ability to see it in his head and then bring it to life.

I like this Canadian Bacon thread, but it makes me think there should be an American Cheese or English Muff in thread as well.
I know it is...That's what I meant by shared Remembrance as they are celebrating Veterans Day over Yonder... Quoted... Fourteen Canadian fighter squadrons flew the Spitfire in WWII and many more Canadians flew the aircraft as members of the RAF. http://airforcemuseum.ca/en/aircraft-2/spitfire
I kinda always think of any of you guys in Washington are close enough you might as well be Canucks. My Dad and Uncle drag raced in Spokane lots back in the 70's and there is always a big contingent of Washington racers at Mission raceway. Our home town is Osoyoos which is right on the border so we would go across the line lots back in the day to shop etc. As for the Canadian Bacon thread well there's just no topping it so best just to take part as an honourary Canadian and enjoy!
When I referenced American Iron it had nothing to do with the Memorial Post...I was saying there is a lot of Canadian Bacon with an American Connection...aka My Sport Coupe American Born Hotrodded in the States but now here...That's what i was referring to...
If you guys are referring to the yellow plane in Stogy's pic.. that's not a spitfire... its a WWII trainer.
