I thought some of youse guys would appreciate this. There are shots of cars throughout almost the whole video, not all of them hot rods, but the first few certainly are. And of course, Jimmy doing his thing, he's the coolest...

    Enjoy!

We went and saw him in concert out in Wellington, Texas. Afterwards, we all went over to @FLAT-TOP BOB s shop far an after party. Low and behold, up pulls the JV tour bus. He showed up to hang out with car guys. Very down to earth guy.

Kool video but I prefer the version by the Fabulous Thunderbirds
when Jimmie was in the band. ("Butt Rockin'" - 1981)

fun video. I can remember back when the Vaughn brothers were just known as Skotz's musician friends around the central Texas car scene.

Great find had to listen a few times in a row. The Corvair towards the end is blasting around Lime Rock. His solo picken near the end is awesome.

Stevie’s favorite guitar player. He’s so good…plays so clean. And he’s a car guy, too!!!

  12. Funny I was watching this just before logging on here last night. He had a little help from a friend for this venue.

That's cool! I'm so glad that Eric appreciates Jimmie, and I like the respect Jimmie shows for Eric, 2 elder statesmen of the blues right there.

You know you’ve reached legend status when Slowhand agrees to play backup for ya. Damn….

I also have the Guitar Junior (Lonnie Brooks) version. Yeah, it is pretty damn good.

By the way, if I was Clapton I'd bristle at the name "Slowhand". He was making
some weak music when that name popped up. Also, he and Jimmie go back a
long way. Talk about two different styles.

Good to see Jimmy had a successful recovery from the stoke he suffered. I talked to him briefly when he was with the Thunderbirds. Also go to do the same with Stevie.

  24. Super nice "Car" guy. I've had the honor of building four engines for him.

  26. That was fantastic! It’s always enjoyable to watch masters of their craft. I detect a little of the Memphis sound in his playing. Why am I just now finding out about Jimmie?

Man, Jimmie is the real deal. I was turned on to him in the very early 80's by a guitar player buddy of mine, who gave me a Fabulous Thunderbird cassette tape, which I played over and over again. One of my very favorite players. Among living blues men, Jimmy is at the top for me, along with a very few other select musicians.

Nothing much better than blues electric guitar and hot rods.
