Such a shame this Oldsmobile is so thin. It's outside the junkyard waiting to be crushed. I'm tempted to get it and part it out. What are the bits worth?

A lot of '61 Olds 2 door hardtop stuff interchanges with '61 Chevy 2 door hardtop (and '62 Belair as well) and is quite valuable, this car would part out really well if you were willing to invest the time it'd take to sell off the good pieces on the internet. Some of the Olds-specific trims and 394 engine stuff is also valuable.

  9. That would make a few cars that are better body wise complete, well worth saving and parting out and scrap whats left. If you get it at scrap value you should get most of it back when you sell it back to them. JW

Please save that 61 Olds. I love them. I might even buy parts from you. I know I need a grill.

  13. 20211007_075404.jpg 20211007_075438.jpg ok, so 3 dudes on the HAMB say I should get it.
Wife will be impressed no doubt. Monday I'll stop by. The Fairmont hub caps will get tossed before it goes on the trailer. What's the max I should pay? Tri fives I know well but this is out of my realm. Thanks guys

I paid $800 for mine, but that's because I wanted it. I'd see how close to scrap value you could get it for.

I followed this super cool Model A truck through town the other day. It looked to be original paint and pretty stock. We pulled up beside it and my wife asks why did he not wash it?

I said I had no clue. I completely understand not restoring this truck. It was a time capsule but I can't really get into original dirt.

  18. On that '61 Olds, that windshield and back glass is worth a lot. The car has lots of rust but still lots of good trim pieces, dash, interior parts. Drivetrain appears intact. If the engine turns freely, it's probably buildable. Doors appear to be decent. Nice grille. Way too valuable to crush whole.

Posted these a while back. Sadly these are ready to go ...tried my luck listing them for just about scrap value. Oh well ..The 37 dump truck has all the goodies under it and Pop said that's a rebuilt dump piston !(40 years ago) 46 is just a shell. Look good piled with pumpkins as yard art . Rust to dust !

Really sad to see such a beautiful 2 door Olds like that and there are so many good pieces worth saving on it. The steering wheel looks in good condition an I have always loved those, like some one else said, front and rear screens will fit all same years 61,62, Caddy, Pontiac, Buick or Chevrolet. I really hope that you got it. Wife will get over it eventually.

  24. Well I stopped by today. $4000 no title.
That's about half the price on Panhead I'm scoping. Wife will kill...
It won't be coming home with me.

Apparently it's wearing a substantial amount of barn dust and it's now a "survivor".

  27. 4K is probably the max it would part out for. Plus I have to figure 10 hours to get it, part it out, sell parts like the entire roof, glass, dash, etc and store it / pack /ship blah blah. Still sad.

He's ready to crush it, but wants $4K for it? If he crushes it, what would he get for it then? Crazy! o_O

I'm guessing at $4K it's not in any hurry to get crushed. If it is, and that's the asking price, that's quite a shame. It does have a lot to give, but not for that price.
