  2. If you haven’t nailed down the front axle, consider one of those wavy Chrysler ones like Jim Sibley is using on his most recent build. They are unique and very mopar. I know where there is one if you want to come south across the border to Canada. Not mine, but I could check for you.

    Thanks for the links, guys.
    Good info and inspiration.
    It can be done!
Now let's see if it can be done by me.

    @daylatedollarshort
I haven't nailed down much yet. I'd be interested in a wavy axle. Good of you to offer. I'll send you a message.

    Grilles are coming.
    1931 Dodge and 1929 Pontiac.
Using the Dodge grille would seem most likely. The face is important, and it's Mopar and has the mean Mopar look. Thought I probably wouldn't use any GM parts. But I'm quite taken with the Pontiac grille. I think it's beautiful and has potential. I imagine painting it body color, eliminating the center bar, keeping the peak at the top and making a nicely polished insert for it from small diameter rod or tubing.
I'm already plenty outside the box. Not using the usually accepted recipe. Definitely not homogenized LOL. The steel doesn't care. Maybe I'll use both grilles. Not at the same time. :)

It's my thread. And Mom's not here. We can do what we want.
How about a little Sunday morning music.
    "No more cryin'."
Cuz I got me a roadster project.
    Everybody have a great day.

    Temporary slow-down.
    Shoulder surgery tomorrow morning.
    I will report back.

Plan is to go back to Ohio in a couple weeks and bring back that 1926 Dodge 4-door sedan do use as a donor for the chassis, body parts and whatever else I can use.

I love that Dodge grille... that thing looks mean. Maybe trim the lower 'ears' off since they won't flow into anything to keep them from distracting from the shell's own lines.

    upload_2021-9-28_17-55-56.png

Quick photoshop edit. The Pontiac grille looks cool, too, but it would be a shame to lose the prominent center bar. I think that gives it a unique character.

I'm envisioning a Inspired Flying Eyeball or the Wheel and Winged Indy speed logo where a no doubt very cool Badge resided...

...just net pulls to ponder as well...a chrome reverse or Mopar wire wheel and piecrust could replace a cycle style wheel and tire...

    Cool... LOL!
    Thanks, @trevorsworth
    Thanks, @Stogy
I do like the somewhat snarly look of that Dodge grille. Straighten a couple teeth and some refinishing and it'll be ready to go. So at least initially, I think the Dodge grille will probably end up on there.
Removing the center bar of the Pontiac would obscure its identity... and that would kind of be the idea. It would allow a perimeter piece to go all the way around and bars the full width of the shell. Similar to a '32 Ford. But not. :)

    Owwwwwww....... ch.
I guess they had to do some fairly extensive work.
Nerve block had my whole arm and hand completely numb with no mobility after surgery yesterday. In a sling, of course. Started regaining feeling late afternoon and my shoulder started aching pretty good. Took pain medication. Pain kept me up all night. More medication. A little better.
Judy made me chicken noodle soup. I'm good. :)
Just can't... scratch my... left shoulder...

    Small problem.
Had surgery on my shoulder last week Wednesday. Came home, taking it real easy. A few days went by. Tuesday evening, day before yesterday, started feeling crappy, low on breath and sweating. Couldn't get comfortable all night, hardly slept. Wednesday morning, Judy took me to the hospital. Turns out my heart had gone into AFib. Heart rate was very high, 150 or so, and uneven. They hooked me up to some monitors and intravenous blood thinners. They got my heart rate down, though it took hours.
Still at the hospital. Lots of monitoring and tests. Echo Imaging today. Chemical stress test tomorrow. Then they're going to do surgery again. It's called cardiac ablation. They go through the groin as with angioplasty. I've had angioplasty and stents installed twice previously. But instead of going to the exterior arteries on the outside of the heart he's going inside the heart to zap away whatever needs to be zapped.
Of course I'll let you know how it goes.

Most of you know how I feel about this place that Ryan made for us. And how I appreciate being able to hang out with you guys. Especially since after losing my Sandy.

Best of luck! I haven't gone through anything quite like that but I have had organs removed + complications after the fact. Never fun, but remember the doctors know what they are doing and there's really nothing to worry about. Don't let stress build up... you're in good hands.

    I'm alive. :)
Still at the hospital. They're fixing me up. Here for the weekend. Chemical stress test this morning. Heart catheterization and any necessary stents on Monday. Ablation at a later date if necessary.

I wanna go home, of course. Bored as can be. But grateful for all the good...
    The advances in medicine.
A reason to do more planning and dreaming and creating.
And you guys. My good brothers from other mothers.

That's the right approach Ricky, this same stuff a few decades ago was very different. My 74YO cousin just went through all of this, ended up with multiple procedures but he is right as rain now. Think positive thoughts, you will back on the Hodge podge in no time. Count your blessings. Godspeed brother.
