Just finished my DuVall windshield copy, similar stance!

 

Real nice job on the windshield. I like that it's a little more delicate looking than mine and better suited to the Deuce body. Rdstr looks great.

My car with the just finished modified Bop Top for the DuVall windshield. Works GREAT!

 

Nice to be able to do a simple wheel change and totally change the look of the car. I still prefer the look with the steel wheels.

Does it ride any different VS the old tall skinny (bias ply) tires? Handling?
I'm running Coker American Classic "bias look" radials and it rides and handles very well.

Rides a little smoother, but not an awful lot different. I'll be going back to the bias plys on new 16 inch wheels over the winter.

 

Center caps are the classic hot rod style that reign in my stable and for resto projects . Just sets a car off nice . I'm going to study through your complete thread here some great decisions and masterful work indeed . You created a beautiful and memorable car . Congratulations you get my trophy vote .

 

Excelsior makes 16" radials and I see a few people using them. I don't like the huge "Excelsior" raised name on the sidewall. Pretty expensive too.

 

I've noticed a lot of the cars in the ''Great Race'' have Excelsior tires so I guess they are pretty darn good.

 

Wound up using the same Firestone tires on a set of new Wheel Smith rims. The only problem with the tire that went flat was one single nylon cord must have broken free from the casing when the tire was mounted and it laid between the top of the tube and tire and cased the tube to leak. The rest of the cords looked fine, as well as the others. I also mounted the tires so the curb guides are on the inside. Spent a lot of time prepping these wheels for paint, so they look 100% better than the last ones and went with a new set of 56 F100 caps.

Your is coming along nicely. Love 28-9's on Deuce rails. Look tiny compared to the Deuce body.

Baron, What did you do about the F100 steering box flange to make it work in the deuce frame ? I know there's several different methods. Just wondering what you did. Also, I dont have an original frame, could you tell me how far forward the centerline of the sector shaft is from the first firewall bolt? BTW. beautiful roadster.
