Event Coverage East West Flathead Reliability Run October 2 2021 ?

We usually put on the East West Flathead Reliability Run in September each year. Monitor Hot Rod Cafe ( Monitor Washington just north of Wenatchee Washington). Since inheriting the event from the Emperors of Spokane a few years ago we have noticed less and less Flatheads making the trip form East or West each year. We don't know the reasons for this drop in attendance but still want to offer it.

We have however seen an increase in overhead powered Hot rod owners that want to come out and see your Flatheads. We have always offered parking on the grounds for these overhead cars and have enjoyed their company. You don't have to own and drive a Flathead to be a fan!

This year we have an open date in the Wenatchee area on October 2nd for a cruise in/ car show. So we are offering all Hot Rodders to come and enjoy the day with special parking offered for Flathead powered cars.We will also be offering a trophy for the Flathead powered car that drives the farthest to the event as usual.

That's the same day as the Vintiques Un Run so you might loose some of the Yakima valley cars. I'd better get my road car back together for it's yearly stint in the parking lot.

Sounds like fun. Haven’t been across the mountains for a while.

 

With the announcement of the cancellation of the fall Monroe swap meet over this last weekend we still have something to do now in October. I will help spread the word for you Sam.

 

We won't be able to make it this year as we will still be on the road from attending the '40 Ford meet in Springfield Missouri. Nice pics from last year @Mr48chev ! See our '31 Coupe in lots of the shots. We will miss being there.

The Hot Rod Cafe is a great place to eat and the owners are really nice people. I always enjoy it there.

This is a great venue to show your car, meet old friends and make new ones. The food is very good and the owners are very accommodating to the car culture. I encourage anyone who has never attended this event to do so.

Pretty sure I will be there with the 2 door wagon.

 

It's also one of the most laid back low events that you will ever attend. It's just a day of kicking back and looking at cars, visiting and having a pretty decent lunch. If your wives go be ware of that rather plain looking furniture store across the street though, they have some serious high end furniture in that place.

It would be great to see more activity about this event. The weather is forecast for mid 60's and sunny. Perfect weather for that fall cruise before the weather gets less predictable.

Projected to be damp on the West side but I have lots of Rainex.

 

Okay gentlemen it's time to fill up those gas tanks check the air in your tires and the oil in your engine. (Ramjet1 needs to check his Rainex supply since it's been wet on his side of the mountains this week) . Gather up a few buddies and confirm your travel plans. The weather is supposed to be 71 degrees and dry over here in Wenatchee this Saturday. I consider that perfect cruising weather and not bad for hanging out and visiting with like minded people for a few hours. Hope to see many of you there.

 

Got the Rainex although weather looks ok on Saturday on the West side for now. Should be dragging a group over.

how was it?

 

It went well. We had around 130 cars. That pretty much filled field. I was to busy with my duties to take pictures but there were some HAMB members there that may be able to post some pictures for us. I thought I saw Ramjet's drone in the air one time. Weather was perfect. We only had a dozen Flatheads though.

 

I ended up missing it, my driver decided to have a wheel bearing issue. Sounds like a good one too.

 

The weather was very favorable and a nice selection of cars. Had a nice relaxing day visiting and checking out all the rides. Food was good, service was quick. Would have liked to see more flatties.

Bruce took a lot of pictures I hope I didn't post any that offend too many of you. Looks like we will try to put this show together for 2022. Hope to see some more HAMB people there.
