That’s cool. Wish we had something like that around here. It would have to be a Native American show.
Hi Dana.Way back in the middle50`s on,my Dad would do day trips with us about once a month. Tampa,Orlando,Miami.Silver Springs,Daytona and ect.We ate at the Mai Kai on a couple of occasions.Gret food.service and entertainment.Tampa was always the Old Fort restaurant.Great steak house.Great memories. Thanks for posting.Being born and raised in Vero Beach made the day trips easy. Good luck.Have fun.Be safe. Leo
In the 1960s n 70s around Vero were a few oval stockcar tracks,I ran up to some times with my race car. Vero Speedway<was really in Fellsmore just north of Vero, was one. Ft Perice,Melburn, were fun also. But I like running out of town from Miami,so would also go up too Sunshine Speedway in Sanit Pete/Tamp,,Naples Speedway ,Punta Gorda Speedway ect. I found a photo of my buddys an our dates in 1964 at the Mai Kai,I'm tall guy on the end.
Ohhh man this was good news for me and the wife..love the Mai Kai..we had to see what state it was in when we went to FL in April..she needs some work. I hope the new people will keep the Legacy of the Mai Kai going, make needed improvements, without tampering with the history. Pulling up to the Mai Kai at night is an amazing experience… I’ll attach some pics from April
