Rest with the Lord, Mr. Fox, and the Lord's peace to your family. Didn't know you but from your posts, but they were always a must read.

Quite a resume while he was with us and definitely not afraid of thinking outside the norm. From the Bantam Altered to the Packard Vega and Beyond, he will be remembered for All his contributions and His Family should be comforted to know that he touched many lives while he was among us. Farewell, Rich Fox.

I met Rich when I went to his place to pickup a 28 Chevy 4-banger that I had bought from him. I was in a hurry to get out of the bay area before rush hour, but we still got some good bench racing in! One of his comments was 'there is no wrecking yards around there any more' Apparently he got a lot of his insperation and cheap parts to modify by walking through the yards. Rich had a mind for 'what something could be made to do'. The day that I was there he was on portable oxygen and sat on a folding chair while I loaded my parts. His body was doing poorly, but his mind for modifying things was sharp as a tack. We talked about the drawbacks of the little Chevy 4-banger, and he had very good ideas that we hashed over. Rich had a great mind and great ability! You will greatly missed Rich!

RIP Rich! I have always respected Rich and his posts. They were always well reasoned and insightful, and he never displayed an air of superiority.

We corresponded about the Plymouth 4 banger. About converting it to insert bearings and the Y block head. He said it didn't improve the performance over the flathead.

I am sad to hear that. Rich Fox was an accomplished hot rodder and has added a lot of valuable content to this site. There are a lot of hot rodding treasures out there that he created or had a hand in. He passed a lot of it on in the last couple of years hopefully to good homes to people who appreciate what they have. If we are lucky we will get to see what they do with it and remember Rich when we do. :(
Only met him once briefly at Bonneville and he was busy helping someone else go faster. He was only 2 years older than me but he did so much more with it! He posted here less than I do but he said a lot much more.
Grumpy gaby 2 I forgot you got the Chevy 4 so that is one I will see someday.:)
