Does anyone have any good sources for carter AFBs? The only thing keeping me from really enjoying my car right now is to find the right carbs.. The ones on my dual quad intake right now are too big and I would rather track down the right carbs, than look for metering rods and jets to make the current ones work OK. I really can't bring myself to putting shiny new Edelbrocks on my roadster. (even though I know it would be easier) I have checked FB Marketplace, Ebay, and Craigslist with no luck. I'm looking for 9500s or 9501s.(thank you to Carbking for the advice) BTW it is a stock 354 Hemi with dual quads and a 3 speed manual.
Earlier 400-500 CARTERS are getting harder and more expensive usually because of restorations and I’m sorry to say this but greed. You can buy devices that cut down air flow which is an option for larger Edelbrock replacements. Good luck. It is why I went to Carter WCFB’s.
Here's a CL ad from Clevland..SBC dual quad manifold with 2 Carter AFB's for $450. You probably could sell the manifold for $100 to a Chevy guy....no choke set up on either carb, but those can be purchased separately. I went to Facebook market place and found ten AFBs from $20 to $100 each. And a set of 400s for $200! Bones
Yep, I found the same . When you get into manufacturer specific model #s, everything gets tricky. I reached out to the guy with the 400s, he only has one left for $200, and I am trying to buy it.
