A friend I have been helping with a 40 sent me one of these books. Having had 14-15 40's over the years I have a decent amount of knowledge on 40's A lot of things I have found on various 40's were explained in this book. Early vs late etc. The one I currently am playing with has all the signs of an early car (47K miles-18-5315XXX). 39 style decklid, early dash, early grille side panels etc. It appears to have been sold in November of 39. Also had a Columbia installed by orig family. This book is an excellent resource for anyone interested in 40's. It is the best book on 40's I have seen. My congrats to Kube for this outstanding book!!
Those books offered by the Early Ford V-8 Club of America are great. I have the one for the 1941 to 1948 Ford and it's almost worn out. I don't think we can appreciate how much time the authors dedicated to the research of their particular year book. There are several books available from 1932 up to '52-'53 Fords. I highly recommend them.
I saw the thread a few months back on the FordBarn, man does know his ‘40’s( as I suspect you do as well). Now if you have an extra that is taking up space…
It's great that Mike was able to publish his book . It is a wonderful, much needed book He is a national 40 Ford treasure and a warehouse of much knowledge. Old Scrounger: Any chance of you publishing a "Difference in 40 Fords" book based on your experiences with owning so many 40's? I am sure your knowledge is also "golden".
Not up to writing a book but always willing to answer questions and help as needed. Have had many calls over the years-no problem.
O most wonderful book. I would like her to be in my home library. I read a lot. The last I read was https://freebooksummary.com/category/the-sunflower on this platform. I have a lot of books about cars, but definitely not. This is a rarity to some extent. I would like to hold her in my hands.
The Early Ford V8's '40 book I bought back in the late '80s is good, but Mike Kubarth's '40 book is really great, and a must for '40 owners.
I got a copy for my birthday. I read it cover to cover like a novel. Great stuff in there for '40 Ford lovers.
