The title implied I would be lured into a culture of scantily dressed, grease smudged, female hot rodders but alas, a sword fight twas my reward.
I think it's the same roadster as used in hiway Patrol. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/bitchin-hot-rod-on-hiway-patrol.1242598/
Here’s a badly damaged half-sheet I found while clearing out a hoard. I’m having it restored. More on that story here.
I thought that might be the one with Chuck Conners. My favorite line in the movie...the police chief telling Chuck ...." Confiscate All Hot Rods" !!!
Many years ago when Hershey was on the grass in the White field the dark Roadster was in the white field. Car was Maroon had a plaque All about the movie Was just cool to see it up close. Old cracked paint etc
Is the black one Caddy powered or Olds? It looks like Caddy powered from the exhaust, but it's kinda hard to see.
I'm guessing Olds (mainly because in the other thread mentioned it has Olds caps on the front wheels?)
It's 1956 I'd say that they were pretty traditional since my first roadster in 1956 was also channeled and about every other one was here in NE Ohio
I was being facetious (hence the ) Some modern day traditionalists ignore the way things were truly done sometimes.
Look here for what happened to that great hot rod . What a shame. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/bitchin-hot-rod-on-hiway-patrol.1242598/#post-14211715
For those wondering where to find this movie. Its free on tubi, you can stream tubi thru computer or a smart tv. They have some cool old movies on there. Tubi is free if you don't mind commercials. Theres been several movies posted on this forum and I've lucky enough to find most of them on there.
I bought a VHS copy of Hot Rod Girl close to 40 years ago; now all I need is a VHS player to play it on!
With Arkie.....mine's VHS and the same guy riding shot gun that's in the other movie we have been posting about with the 55 Chevy and hot chopped top Buick Rivera.
Yes I saw that! Even used one of the pictures in a reply above?! My point is that I’m surprised at how many old builds surface today and then get “modernized” to today’s idea of traditionalism?? It really was just a tongue-in-cheek comment that seems to have not landed with everyone? “No Ragerts!”
yeah, what a shame. I realize that the guy that owns it can do with it as he pleases, But for crying out loud they took a legit old hotrod movie car and made it look like a stocker with no fenders and hood...
I must be missing something? I don’t see any pics of a “stocker” anywhere? And for the record I am not even talking about this car specifically? Something is getting lost in translation and it’s probably on my end so I will quit digging a deeper hole!
