Sixcarb said - I own the car now, it's been in my family since 66. in 1956 it was owned by the movie studios and then came east by way of Sammy Packard. The young man that owned the car from Hollywood in 1952 ended up dying in a boating race before the car ended up on the movie set. I remembered reading this a few years ago that the car is or was owned by HAMBer @Sixcarb ... it was un-channeled in the '70s and now runs a flathead, HRP
Marathon still going on Decades. Some cool Mercs and Buicks and Mopars in that show. I like Broderick Crawford, great actor, especially considering he was supposedly gassed half the time. He rattles his line off so fast it's sometimes hard to follow.
I was thinking the same thing about how fast he does his lines... Love the show, It is interesting that all the patrol cars are 2 doors!!!
I find it particularly interesting that all of the Buicks are Century's. They were supposedly special ordered from Buick by the CHP and were the only 2 door post Century's made. This was so they could get the 322 ci Roadmaster engine in a two door post (the Specials had the smaller 264 ci engine). I also believe they were all 3 speed sticks. I would kill for one.
It was On the W coast Channel, In few Silver screen's showing E style H -R , then comes East (Back?) un channel , Nice roadster would like to have either way! Danny how often does the Roaster get driven ?
