stovebolt intakes

    Cool ! Never seen this one before.
    2x Stromberg 97 or 2x standard single-barrel adapter.

    Which carbs will you go with ?
    Got a photo from the bottom side ?
     
  2. That ones a wall hanger, I don't think it would work well.

    It is cast with two sets of runners. Like a dual plane V8.
    It must be a thick wall casting, quite heavy.

    Binging a old post back to life. Looking for a 235/261 intake. Want something different not seen everyday. Anyone got something cool they would turn loose of? I have a edelbrock for a 216 with fresh rochester on it I was gonna make work but I would like something different. It will be going on a warmed up 261. 1476493503925.jpg

    Here's an older Larrowe blower intake, during mock up, that was modified to take a Detroit 8V53 blower.

    Threads like this never die. They just wait for the next "never seen" piece to show up. Here's mine! This is the first time I've ever had Tom Langdon draw a blank on an inline question. It's a Sharp Triplet 3x1. Tom questioned if it was a Sharp 2x1 that someone had modified. It's not. It's "as cast" and obviously off an original Sharp made pattern. It's the only one I've ever seen or heard of and I just went through 12 pages of this thread to see if there was another on it. There's not. No trace of it on the internet, either. It may be the only one left standing. What's even wilder, this manifold has never been mounted or used. The last picture is my Sharp 2x1. Nate the logo change, shape and fin change, and the addition of the stands on the runners of the 3x1 to support a linkage rod.

    Good find! The way it is designed with the end carbs squeezed in close allows it to be used for 1, 2, or 3 carbs. That's what I did on my modified GMC intake I recently completed.

  15. I've posted this picture on my Instagram and on one of the Stovebolt related Facebook groups within the past couple of weeks. It's my buddy's stuff, but he doesn't want everyone knowing exactly whose it is. Since it's fun to show it off, I've been sharing it and getting a laugh from people getting worked up over it. He's accumulated a pretty good collection, and since he's moving we had it all (almost all of it) in one place and accessible for the first time in a while. We couldn't resist spreading it out on the shop floor and getting some pics from the loft.

    My old pal ran a rear engine dragster back in the 50's, with a 216 Chevy. Not sure what the manifold was, or headers.... He ran a mag, and full pressure oil.
    Next is my 'ol Dodge. Tattersfield head, Edmunds script intake, and Phillips Performance exhaust and side covers. Runs Chrysler carbs, late ignition, and a Hemi tranny..... Next is the Wayne 216 Chevy that replaced the original 216 in my buddy's rail..... It ran a pair of Winfields.... Dicks rail 10.jpg dodge 230.jpg Wayne.jpg

  18. The headers are Clarks. I have a set of those. The intake looks to me like what's sometimes called a McGurk and sometimes called a Wayne. In my friend's stuff, there's one right about in the middle of the middle column (just left of the Weiand) with three one barrels, and one below it with three two barrels.
    EDIT: None of the Wayne advertisements I've collected have pictures of intakes. Here is a McGurk ad with that style intake.

    Your MoPar stuff is super cool, and your friend's Wayne stuff is badass.

    Speaking of my buddy with the Wayne, this pic was taken the day we pulled his '62 Impala out of a loafing shed (3-sided) a couple months back. He parked it in 1976. He special ordered the critter with a 6 cyl/3-spd/OD. Has less than 100K miles on it, and when I opened it up, it was like a time capsule. No dust, no dirt, no mouse turds, no nuth'n. No cracks in the steering wheel or dash, and the seats which had been redone (kids), were perfect. Side panels and headliner are very nice...No major rust. Original paint..... dicks 62a.jpg

    Picked up a nice Nicson 235 intake in Portland and I'm wondering who all has ran one of these units? If you have, do you happen to have a photo of how you have your linkages set up?

    It's not a nicson intake, but I have a cyclone triple intake I was thinking of selling if anyone is interested.

    Not a stove bolt but a more muscular cousin a 20220427_132317.jpg GMC military 302..I cast the manifold from patterns I made from MDF and hardwood
    I used PVC pipe for the elbow patterns.

    Just picked up this 235 nicson dual intake. Noticed its flat from underneath, doesnt bolt up to a heatriser on an exhaust

    Same as mine, meant for boats I believe.
    Still would love to see how people have set up their linkage. I would suspect making two small brackets off the inner two carb studs?
