How about the famous "Magic Muffler" the one that threw the bottom end of the 354 Hemi out the bottom at Lions dragstrip in the 60's. I don't know how to get the picture on here. Maybe someone else could help? There is a guy's head in the lower left of the picture, I have the pleasure of knowing this gentleman. He said he was standing right beside the track-I bet that was a thrill!
A coupla Mike Sullivan's cars. Mike built some of the best looking Fiats on the drag strip. He had a knack for mounting the body in just the right place on the chassis that others missed. A rod or two not staying in place. Orange Country Raceway under the lights Parachute on the way out. Possibly Bakersfield. This one IS at Bakersfield ! Backing up from the burnout. Mike
A couple more from other guys. Magic Muffler at San Fernando. That shot everyone knows - but sitting still this time. An afternoon at Irwindale How about Mondello and gang at Lions under the lights Another Mondello with Sush Matusubara in the seat Pilots license checkout ! Bakersfield Super Rat (with Willie in the lead) Randy Bradford, again Bakersfield Bradfords at Orange County Raceway Burkholder at Orange County Raceway Interesting little unknown Fiat. Chopped top with Flathead for power All for now. Mike
Here's FIVE pages of them https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/lets-see-some-fiat-topolinos.1035602/
And a mate did a tupperware mold off my wifes purple car and we sat it on a chassis I bought from another Topo guy.
Another steel body I owned and then sold to some other hot rodders. Front rims are off the chassis I bought
Already we have repeat /copy paste pics from the existing Topolino thread. Why not just add anything fresh to the thread we already have? https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/lets-see-some-fiat-topolinos.1035602/
Looks like the Simca n Topo shared the same body? Topo was Italian n Simca french?\ Another Topo-like was Callies "303" streeter-for-autocrossing. One of my favorites, but rarely seen. What ever happened to it? Hope it's still around. Marcus...
Toplolino was a Fiat 500, the same car, French version was called a Simca 5. John Callies is now white. When I get around to building mine, it will be similar to the 303, with only the rear fenders widened a couple of inches, instead of all four. I have a 215 Buick and a 5 speed set aside for the project. Thanks for the reminder Doug !
I sure remember how I reacted when I first spied Callies' car in ?Car Craft? I never cared much for the original wheels though. Edit: I see that at least one magazine coverage was in Hot Rod.
