Great story with a happy ending - I was expecting a patina'ed heap and was amazed to see its condition - looks like it was well-loved by all its owners. Always liked the '62 and this makes me want one more!

Glad you were able to get the car back. It's a really nice car.

Great car that looks like it was well kept over the years. I had this one for a while 57D215CF-D4DD-48A6-B269-573DEB9796EC.jpeg

  8. My guess is that the car originally came with a 221 V8 judging by the V8 emblem on the fender.

The Car has its original paint except the quarters. Cattal rubbed through the grain bin and got one of the guarters. I used trizact 3000 then 5000 buffed it .

  15. You don't see many 62's, at least I see more 63's than 62's. I always liked the fullsize 63 Ford but the 62-63 Fairlanes sure are nice looking cars. And this one is one of the best.

Great story and car! Someone did a nice job with the wheel wells. Your Brother was very fortunate to have your Grandma front him $4000. That was a lot of money then, probably a new car price for some cars.
I think your Brother guided the car to you. So cool that it's unchanged from it's "Street Freak/Street Machine era and you can bet he'll be riding along with you! Enjoy!
