Looking at buying a dragster project - the seller knows nothing about it. I can't view it in person as it's several thousand miles away. Best pic I have of the disassembled engine in the chassis is the one attached - anyone know what it is? Block looks to be aluminum, has vertical ribs on the block sides and ribs across the lifter valley. Thanks for any light you can shed.
The lettering cast into the side, right above the oil pan rail should confirm, but definitely looks like an old Keith Black block.
I had a friend that tried to use a wet block and could never get it to seal..Even went back to KB and they couldn't stop the leaks....
There are two different kind of wet blocks . Wet sleeve,,,,and dry sleeve . The block in that pic is a wet sleeve block . And I’m not certain it is a Keith Black,,,,,I could be wrong on this. Usually Keith Black is spelled out on the side,,,,and not just initials . The ribs in the side look different as well . Did Donovan make a 426 block,,,,I know they made a 417 . Tommy
