Ever cut a windshield out that was set in urethane? Just sayin. Lippy

  2. I had an accident with my Mysterion clone. Driving it on an open trailer to a photo shoot (by HAMB member Tom Davison) and got lazy and the top blew off and got destroyed. I got some wire made especially to cut urethane windshield adhesive and it made quick wok of separating the Plexiglass from my fiberglass/wooden frame.

Top glued in the frame, ready to paint transparent blue.

I agree with those who recommended tricks to get large surface area for an epoxy based repair.

  4. Just remember as several previous replies have stated, the adhesive bond is relying on the cleanest surface possible. Roughing the surface is good, it adds bond area and some mechanical tooth to help further. I like the idea to weld a small piece to the bolt head for additional bond area.

Like a braze joint, fit up and thinner bond thickness will give best results.
