I have this beefy axle kicking around my garage and I am thinking of mounting it in my Willys gasser. Is there a disc brake set up that was used back in the day of early racing?

I bent my other axle this week.

FF2407A7-C277-4A49-8B6F-02AFA61F2043.jpeg They are HTF today but Airhearts would be era correct and look great on a Gas class car. These are on my coupe, Airheart dual spot , 3/8” rotors and aluminum hubs.

Do you know where I can find the measurement From the kingpin to where the wheel mounts? Or face to face?

    I just measured and it’s 4 3/4”, give or take a bit.
Keep in mind this is an old kit that I bought in the ‘70’s. The hubs, rotors and caliper brackets came from PSI, Gene Scott produced them to fit the Airheart calipers.

That black painted axle in front on the chrome one has 37-41 Ford round back spindles.

The only issue I had with them was when I first had the car on the street. We went to to the SR NATS in Memphis and the rotors pretty much got chewed up on that trip. I had ordered the PSI kit and the Airheart calipers from a local speed shop, there were soft, medium and hard pucks and they ordered the hard ones. They were too abrasive, lesson learned. PSI was still in business so I bought replacement rotors and changed to medium pucks, problem solved.
I have had silicone fluid in mine since day one, they are aluminum and I was always concerned with corrosion.
