Event Coverage Drag Week 2021

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by squirrel, Mar 30, 2021.

  1. Jim wasn't registered for this years event and took a chance and went hoping there was an opening for him. Last years overall winner got Covid a month ago and couldn't get his stuff done in time for this years event. Ironically Jim got Bailey's opening and number, hence the confusion.

I doubt it. I haven't even looked at a plug since I left AZ. over 3000 miles ago.

although it is a lot cooler here than it was at Indy today.

wait till I get home to change it. It's synthetic, and it stays pretty clean...

  12. The car can and has gone in the nines. On drag week they know what your tech is good for. Its in the computer. If a time slip is turned in thats faster than you can legally go its tossed out. Jims car is good down to 10.00 so he is doing a good job running fast but not too fast.

I'm cheating on myself this year, using a dash gps to know where I am and how far I have to go. I have a gas station map in the glove box, and a big atlas on the other seat. It's really hard to drive this car and navigate at the same time. I"ve been following other drag week cars, to follow our assigned route (we have to follow a route, directions are given out every day when we turn in our time slip).

it's 6am here now, I'm ready to roll. half an hour to the track. it's dark out, I have to get a bite to eat and get some gas.

I got a lot of sleep last night, about 7 hours.

if anyone wants to get a hold of me, 520 456 6428. I sometimes hear my phone ring, but I do check for texts every now and then.

  17. This should be a lesson to everyone who is afraid to drive their cars any distance…Jim is putting thousands of miles on his 9 second car. No excuse not to drive them.

The bugs on the radiator and the trans cooler prove that the car is street driven. I'm enjoying following along on the ride and watching the racing on my computer.

  28. I've never been to Byron but I swear from the camera angle it looks like they are running downhill. Then uphill on the shutdown.
