had fun and got some parts, hoping the swap meet is bigger next year, seemed about half of what lake compounce used to be. Worth the drive for me either way, I always find something.[/QUOTE]

The lighter turn out was certainly due to the Covid issue. People are being cautious. Next year we expect a normal size event or I bet actually a much larger event than normal.

Is there room to expand the swap meet? It almost looked like all of the real estate was taken up, you guys have permission to go bigger?

There's lots of room we have ALL the parking lots in our agreement. There's lots all around the stadium and going way back into the property along side the Pratt and Whitney runway.

Don't know about any early history with the runway. There was air shows held there years ago. But nothing like that has taken place in years. The state police are the only ones using it these days.

With the move to our new location we are no longer holding a fall swap meet. The football season scheduling keeps the location busy so there's no way to plan a fall event.

Having that location for our swap meet is a bonus for us. It would be nice if the football team was actually good but heck we cant have everything.

    Ronnie,

Nice to see you there today.

FWIW, my dad worked at Pratt and Whitney for years. During that time, there were a number of celebrations/anniversaries and other such events and the airfield would be covered with historic planes. Got to go in a Ford Tri motor once. As planes hit bigger and noisier, the airfield was kind of outgrown. A bunch of test flights and such moved to Bradley field. The most notable of these to my memory was test flights of the JT9D on the wing of a B52. This was the engine that debuted on the 747.

Back on topic, Nice show today.

We had a local event that I couldn't miss, the 245th Anniversary of the Battle of Ridgefield and burial of the discovered remains of four that died that day. Hope everyone had a good time at the CSRA event.
